When I spoke with Leora about directions on how to get out to Haymaker's Lodge in Anson, KS for their engagement session she asked me, "would you like to meet at the grocery store in Conway since it doesn't have an address yet?" I was very intrigued to see how this place was going to be. She had sent me a few snapshots, but nothing to truly prepare my husband and I for what was in store for us. Once we met at the grocery store and followed them down a long dirt road with a couple of turns here and there, we piled up in their pickup truck in order to make our way further out on the land for the photo shoot. Because let's face it, my VW Jetta would not have done well driving over farm land!
This place was a photographer's dream filled with old tin sheds, barbed wire fences, beautiful spread out farm pastures with sunsets as the backdrop, lakes, and a vintage pick-up truck as the icing on the cake! This is also a new venue that is in the process of being built that Leora and Mathias will be getting married at. Mathias' cousin owns the land and is building Haymaker's Lodge, which should be opening this August. Mathias has also worked on getting this venue up and running with working on the piping. So, this place has a great deal of meaning for the both of them as well. I am definitely looking forward to photographing their wedding here in September of 2019!
My husband and I were so excited to be able to photograph this amazing couple on this beautiful land that was the perfect setting to showcase their love for each other. They found each other in middle school, and their love just continued to blossom into something truly special. So happy for the both of them and to be able to share in their joy in this exciting moment of their lives.
