11 Items Every Bride Needs On Her Wedding Day
In the hustle and bustle of planning a wedding there are so many things that we seem to forget especially the closer we get to the wedding date and the more chaotic seems thing to get. So, I wanted to put together a check list of items for you to be sure and have to help make your day go smooth even if there are a few hiccups along the way.
First and foremost remember that this day is about you and your soon to be spouse! Don't feel guilty asking for help on some of these items as well. That is what your wedding party is for. They are there not only to help you celebrate your love for each other, but also to help make your day as great as can be.
1. Breakfast, Brunch, or Lunch
It is super important to remember to feed your bridal team (groom team too)! Most of the time your day starts out pretty early with everyone getting hair and makeup done at either the salon or at your hotel suite or home. Having some pastries and bagels from Panera is a great idea. You could have a bridesmaid or maid of honor swing by and do a rapid pick-up on their way over to meet you, or they do deliver as well. If you are getting ready around the lunch time, be sure to have some sandwich trays or even just some fruit, veggie, or cheese and cracker trays for your guests to much on. No one wants a hangry wedding party!
2. Bluetooth Speaker & Phone Chargers
Having your phone charger is a must! You will need to have a way for people to reach you just in case or for your soon to be spouse to send you a text on how they can't wait to see you at the altar. Also, create a playlist on Spotify or iTunes so that while you are getting ready you can play some music on your bluetooth speaker. Great tunes are a great way to kick start your wedding day.
3. Makeup
Your wedding is going to be a busy, emotional day, and you are going to need some touch ups from time to time. While it would be awesome to have a makeup artist onsite the whole day, that's usually not the case. So be prepared with lipstick, powder, mascara, eyeliner, etc. There will be plenty of smooches and tears, so be ready to refresh in the limo on the way to take pictures and your reception.
4. Bobby Pins
No matter how many bobby pins your hair stylist might use, there always seems to be a need for these. These are great for securing in your veil or your head piece, especially if this is something you might not do at the salon or where you are getting ready. You might have a curl fall out of place, the wind blow some pinned back pieces loose, or a flower girl who decides to remove her floral crown. Having bobby pins on hand will help remedy these situations.
5. Deodorant
You are probably going to be sweating from nerves the morning of your wedding, so before you walk down that aisle you definitely want to be sure you are feeling and smelling fresh. If your dress isn't white, be sure to try and find a clear deodorant in order to avoid any of those annoying white stains that might show up. Also be sure to splash on a little perfume. Don't go overboard though! A simple splash on the neck and the wrists is a perfect amount of fragrance.
6. Sewing Kit
I have seen these sewing kits come in handy on numerous occasions. I have seen buttons pop off gowns, bustles come undone, straps break, the whole nine yards. Be sure to have a sewing kit on hand so that if anything happens to rip, break, or pop, there can be a quick fix.
7. Nail Polish
Have nail polish that matches your color just in case you have a chip on your nail. Also have a nail polish that goes with your color theme that way if anyone wasn't able to get there nails done, or a little flower girl that wants to match the big girls, will be able to paint their nails too.
8. Tissues
I think there is a pretty obvious reason we need tissues! This is a very special day for you both and a very good chance that there will be many emotions while celebrating your love for each other. For parents this is also an emotional day of watching their little ones grow up, fall in love, and get married. So, be sure and have plenty tissues on hand to help wipe away these tears of joy.

9. Aspirin
There can be a lot of stress on your wedding day from emotions and from keeping everything flowing. Be sure and designate different tasks beforehand to friends and family to try and alleviate all of this pressure and help make your day go smooth. But also be sure and keep some aspirin on hand in case you get a headache. You don't want your head throbbing as you are trying to read your vows or dance your first dance.
10. Instax Mini Camera
This is one of those items you may not see on a lot of other check lists, but I highly recommend it! These are so much! You can snap pics of your wedding party and let them take home a pic to remember the day. You can snap pics of you and the girls getting ready, a cheers with your mimosas, selfies before you walk down the aisle, a first pic of the newlyweds, etc. There is so much you can do with these fun little cameras. You can find Instax cameras as well as custom photo albums at places like Michaels and Walmart. You also can find great bundles for the film on Amazon and Groupon.
P.S. These would also be fun at bachelorette party!
11. Umbrella
If it's going to rain on your wedding day, make the most of it! There are so many different options you can find online when shopping for umbrellas. Love & Lavender has a great blog post listing the top wedding umbrellas you can find ranging from parasols to polka dots and where you can purchase them. Plus, these can make for some fantastic photos!
Don't let the rain stop you from having fun on your wedding day!
Most importantly, as I said before, don't forget what your day is about. This is about your love for one another and no matter if a button pops off, a little wind and rain, nothing is going to stop you from celebrating and having one of the greatest days of your life.
Cheers and happy wedding planning!
