When your college roommate calls you up and asks you to be their wedding photographer it's such an exciting time. When your college roommate is a rock star artist from KC, MO that definitely knows how to party, even better. Kate and Thayer didn't surprise me a bit when they hosted such a beautiful, unique, and amazing wedding full of customized items. They were able to incorporate bits and pieces of themselves into every detail ranging from the custom wedding favors for guests, to the custom brail tie clips for each groomsmen.
And then their came the vows. Kate and Thayer had written their own vows and when Kate began to read hers out loud to Thayer, the tears started flowing. There was not a dry eye in the house. You could feel the love and the joy and support from all friends and family in the room. One of the amazing things about their wedding was that being they are artists in the art community, they have a lot of creatives as friends and most of their vendors were them, such as myself.
Photographing a wedding in the West Bottoms of Kansas City was the perfect setting for their wedding, filled with artists, beautiful buildings, and the tremendous urban landscapes of downtown KC.
Congrats to Kate and Thayer! Cheers to a long and happy "mawage."
