When we had a Skype session with Kristen and Jarrod before their wedding to go over the timeline and discuss all the changes that were being made to their wedding plans due to COVID, you could tell that these two were ridiculously happy and excited about their big day coming up despite any of it. When I asked them how many people they thought would be able to make it to their wedding since they were so limited and their response was, "Honestly, no one could show up but just you guys and we would be okay with that!" They just wanted to get married and knew that no matter what happened, as long as the two of them were together, this day would be perfect.
I can't tell you how many times I have expressed this to brides in the past when they are freaking out about the schedule running late, or hair not being right, or flowers maybe not what they dreamed of. No matter what happens on this day, don't forget the reason you are here. Because of your love for one another. You could be in a field, during a thunderstorm and your clothes soaking wet (okay, that sounds kind of awesome and yes, I will photograph it) and nothing else should matter but the fact that you are standing there together.
And when you find out that you might have to cancel your entire wedding, and then that all of the guests you invited can't even come, and you have no idea who will even show up, if at all, be like Kristen and Jarrod.
We met these two at the Wichita Bridal Expo and had an instant connection with them. They are two amazing souls that you can tell are meant for each other. And let me tell you, you could feel it that day. These two are an inspiration and true example of what love is. I caught Jarrod winking at Kristen a few times and in those moments you could tell that this was his way of saying from a distance and in silence, "I love you and we've got this."
